Newsletter (December 6, 2018)

Many thanks to those who have supported the MayDay Group through their donations on Giving Tuesday! With this support, the MDG is able to maintain our website, plan for colloquia, and more.
For those who had hoped to submit an abstract to the International Symposium on the Sociology of Music Education (ISSME) but missed the deadline, we are happy to let you know that the deadline has been extended to December 10, 2018. In this newsletter, there is also information on the 3rd Annual Symposium of the LGBTQ+ Music Study Group and Global Musics and Musical Communities. While not specifically music education, the themes of both these conferences echo the Action Ideals of the MayDay Group. There are also several position vacancies in this newsletter.
Finally, the MayDay Group would like to extend congratulations to MDG member Elizabeth Hellmuth Margulis on the publication of The Psychology of Music, A Very Short Introduction. Congratulations, Elizabeth!
